MORNING SESSION:                          Kate Noble

Story Structure
They say if you scratch the surface of a cynic, you find a romantic. As a typical middle child, Kate Noble spent a good portion of her early life developing a crusty exterior, while quietly nursing a whimsical, nougat-y core. This led her, quite naturally, to romance novels.

Kate is the national bestselling author of the acclaimed Blue Raven Series, earning starred reviews from Library Journal and Publisher’s Weekly (Follow My Lead), as well as a spot on the Best Romance list from Kirkus Reviews (The Summer of You) and a RITA nomination for best Regency Historical Romance (Revealed).

You can find Kate at

AFTERNOON SESSION:           Sarah Wendell of Smart Bitches Trashy Books

Online Reviews: How to Seek, Receive, Use & Respond to Reviews

Sarah Wendell is author of the book Everything I Know About Love, I Learned from Romance Novels, co-author of the book, Beyond Heaving Bosoms: The Smart Bitches’ Guide to Romance Novels, and co-founder of Smart Bitches Trashy, one of the most popular blogs examining romance fiction.

Nancy Farrier
What is the definition of Inspirational romance? A sweet story? An element of faith? A character type? What about S-E-X in Inspirational romance? In this class we’ll take a look at the qualities found in Inspirational stories. We’ll delve into what comprises the various genres within the Inspirational market: contemporary, historical, romantic suspense, etc. We’ll look at the element of faith to see what that means and if there is a standard amount expected in your story. We’ll look at examples, and you will be able to share some of your work, if you choose, to see if your manuscript fits the market.
